Improving the Health Care Experience

  • We welcome your abstract submissions for the topic of “Improving the Health Care Experience”. This year’s collaborative event celebrates the application of initiatives to improve nursing care in the various settings of academia, practice, and community health outcomes. Submissions for this abstract call should highlight new initiatives in nursing practice, education, and research.

    Examples include (but are not limited to):

    • Local initiatives or projects which are positively impacting health outcomes
    • Active or experiential learning approaches in nursing education
    • Descriptive or comparative studies regarding evidenced based practice
    • Implementation strategies focused on retention of nurses and educators
    • Development of cooperation, policy, training, or research in areas such as child health, women’s health, and infectious disease
    • Discovery research in areas such as use of biomarkers and genetic coding
    • PICO questions leading to evidence review

    Abstracts should use the following headings:

    • Background/Significance
    • Purpose
    • Methods
    • Results
    • Conclusions
    • Recommendations

    Abstracts are not to exceed 500 words. The abstract will only be accepted if submitted in the above template, and forwarded as an e-mail attachment in Word format by September 1, 2016. Submissions should identify a preference for an oral poster or podium presentation.  An email confirming receipt of your abstract will be sent to you within 1 week. If you have not received the confirmation by then, please contact us. All decisions on abstract acceptance are final and will be communicated by September 15, 2016.   • Want to hear what happened at a Board Meetings?

    It's not always easy to know what is happening at the Board Meetings. To help members stay up to date, approved minutes will now be added to the Resources list under Meetings and the Year. Minutes will be uploaded one month after the meeting when the Board has approved them.
